Purpose

On the completion of this course participants will be able to indentify various engine faults and gain the skills to repair an outboard engine. This course is designed to reinforce your skills and knowledge for conducting routine maintenance on outboard engines. Exercises will enable students to perform hands-on inspections and servicing on outboard engines.

The course is conducted as theoretical and practical training at VIKING Safety Academy.

• Pre-starting checks • Weekly & Monthly Maintenance • Electrical • Fuel - oil mixing • Propeller replacement • Spark plugs inspection • Impeller inspection and replacement • Changing gear oil • Lubrication points • Fuel Line inspection • Cooling system inspection • Flushing the cooling system • Emergency troubleshooting

Target group

The course is designed for Coxswains, Seafarers designated as Fast Rescue Boat Operators and Engineers.
