Purpose

This course is designed to enhance your familiarity with conventional lifeboat systems on cargo vessels and to increase your overall understanding of it. The aim of this course is to guide you through all the necessary checks and inspections you need to do on several components on totally enclosed conventional lifeboat systems in order to have a well maintained and ready for use system onboard.

The course is conducted as e-learning.

Content

Upon completion of the course the participants will know which are the necessary inspections they have to perform, during maintenance on the various components of the system, such as the lifeboat, the launching appliance and the release mechanism. In combination with the manufacturer’s manuals onboard the vessel, they will be able to perform weekly and monthly maintenance in a safe way, in order to keep the system safe and ready for use during drills or in actual emergencies.

All crew members with maintenance duties on totally enclosed conventional lifeboat systems.
